What is a SEPA transfer?

SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area. It was introduced by the European Council to streamline the European payment structure. With SEPA, bank transfers can be made from any European bank account to any other European bank account. Paying via bank transfer is a very trusted and secure way for customers to pay online, as they use their own familiar online banking environment to send money. SEPA bank transfers are supported in 34 countries. The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Poland all have high percentages of shoppers who use SEPA bank transfers to pay for their online purchases.

The European Union developed SEPA standards to enable streamlined euro bank transfers by adopting consistent and uniform bank account numbers called IBANs. Benefits of standardized account numbers across Europe include fast processing times for transfers and equal costs for cross-border bank transfers, allowing merchants to receive payments from customers throughout Europe. Customers benefit from wide availability, fast payment processing, and low transaction fees.

How does a SEPA transfer work?

When you choose to pay via SEPA bank transfer, you receive the payment details directly on your screen or by email. You then log in to your own online banking environment and make the payment at your convenience. Instead of entering the details manually, we provide QR codes that automatically fill in all required bank information, making payment easier for you and reducing the chance of errors.

If you enter the wrong bank details, automatic refunds are offered.

Processing a SEPA bank transfer generally takes a few business days, but we provide real-time status updates on your payment. Please note that we can only ship your order once the funds are received on our end.

Standard SEPA transfers typically take 1–2 business days to arrive. However, if the transfer is initiated after the bank’s cut-off time or during weekends, it may take up to 3 business days. For urgent transactions, SEPA Instant Credit Transfers are processed within 10 seconds, 24/7, provided both banks support this feature. This makes SEPA a reliable and efficient option for euro-denominated payments across Europe.
